Millions of women like us swooned over Colin Firth in the wet shirt scene in the classic BBC production of Pride and Prejudice. In 2007 we turned our personal passion into a business and now give you the chance to step into the world of many period drama adaptations.
We spend months researching the locations used in the films, we speak to the people involved in filming, at the locations and research all the juicy snippets about the actors and the scripts. Next we look for period hotels and suppliers who understand what we are about. We’ve concentrated on attention to detail – our tours are always small and personal and if you prefer we can offer private tours.
Stay in the period
On all our tours we make sure that you stay in hand-chosen quality accommodation. Our hotels and inns are as close to the period as possible, often with quirky historical backgrounds. We are committed to the personal touch. You will stay in a selection of fascinating rooms – some with four poster beds, or stunning views, or even rooms used by the film casts and crews.

Hazel Jones – Jane Austen, Bath & P&P Guide
Hazel Jones has worked with us since 2009 as an expert guide and tour leader, sharing her extensive knowledge of Jane Austen, and the historical context. Hazel also runs courses on Jane Austen and she is a Jane Austen addict, having fallen in love with Henry Tilney at eleven years old, although she has since been unfaithful to him with Mr Darcy, Captain Wentworth and Mr Knightley. Her book ‘Jane Austen and Marriage’ was published by Continuum Books in May 2009. In 20012 she co-wrote a book celebrating the bicentenary of P&P, the novel. It has a rather delicious cover pic of Colin Firth!
Natalie Garbett – Tour Guide and Costume events
Natalie has been passionate about the Regency Period and Jane Austen from an early age. She studied English Literature, Archaeology and Classical Studies, and always loved the performing arts. The BBC adaptations of Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion in 1995 were a big influence and, inspired by the authentic look of these productions she decided to focus on producing historically accurate clothing for men and women.
Since graduating she has worked for over 12 years as a costumier for clients include the BBC, National Trust and English Heritage. She co-ordinated and was a technical advisor on Napoleon and the Empire of Fashion, a collection of original garments from 1795-1815 which was exhibited in Milan in 2010. Natalie has now become internationally recognised as an authority on late Georgian and Regency clothing.
